Log Manager

The Log Manager is a critical sub-component of the Transaction Coordinator responsible for creating, maintaining, and providing access to detailed logs of all transaction-related activities. It ensures data integrity by capturing timestamps, user actions, system states, and transaction outcomes, enabling auditing, debugging, and recovery processes. It operates as the centralized repository for event data within the coordination framework.

The Log Manager continuously monitors the Transaction Coordinator for events. When an event occurs (e.g., transaction initiation, data modification, commit, rollback), it captures relevant metadata (timestamp, user ID, transaction ID, action type, before/after state if applicable) and writes it as an immutable entry to a persistent storage system (e.g., database table, file system, dedicated log service). It may employ techniques like write-ahead logging (WAL) for reliability and provides APIs for querying and retrieving log data by time range, transaction, or event type.
