Movable Jaw Plate

The movable jaw plate is a critical wear component in jaw crushers, mounted on the swing jaw assembly. It forms the crushing chamber with the fixed jaw plate and moves in an elliptical motion to apply compressive force on feed material. Its geometry, tooth profile, and material composition directly influence crushing efficiency, product gradation, and operational costs. Designed for periodic replacement due to abrasive wear, it features mounting holes for secure attachment and may incorporate reversible designs to extend service life.

The movable jaw plate operates on the principle of compressive crushing. As the eccentric shaft rotates, it drives the swing jaw in a reciprocating elliptical motion. This movement brings the movable jaw plate periodically toward the fixed jaw plate, creating a narrowing gap that compresses trapped material until it fractures. The crushed material then falls through the discharge opening at the bottom during the retraction phase. The crushing action is primarily determined by the plate's tooth profile, which can be straight, corrugated, or toothed to optimize for different material types and desired product sizes.
