HDMI board receptacles: mating form, mounting drawing and part-specific ratings
A board-mount HDMI receptacle provides the mating interface and soldered connection to the PCB. Order against the exact mounting drawing, connector form and rated part, then validate the intended signal path with its board and cable.
HDMI receptacles and plugs for printed-circuit boards and cable assemblies — standard (Type A), Mini, Micro and automotive types. HDMI cables as finished assemblies, signal switches, retimers and redrivers, and other audio-video connectors are outside this page except where compared.
01
Same Sky’s catalogue distinguishes surface-mount, mid-surface-mount and through-hole Type A receptacles. Horizontal and vertical orientation and the mounting height change the board and enclosure interface. The family name does not identify one interchangeable footprint. [2]
Its HD11-19-MSMT-TR datasheet identifies a 19-position HDMI 2.0 receptacle. Use that part’s board layout, mounting dimensions and solder-tail arrangement rather than applying dimensions from another catalogue row. [1]
HDMI Licensing’s older HDMI 1.4b overview describes the Micro connector and an automotive connection system. Those are distinct mating/application descriptions, not evidence that a Type A board receptacle can be replaced by another connector shape. [3]
02
For HD11-19-MSMT-TR, the datasheet lists rated voltage 40 V AC and current 0.5 A. Contact resistance is 30 mΩ maximum between terminal and mating plug, measured at 20 mV/100 mA; insulation resistance is 100 MΩ minimum at 500 V DC. These are different electrical tests, not an instruction to apply the component’s voltage rating to an HDMI signal pin. [1]
Insertion force is 4.5 kgf maximum and withdrawal force is 1–4 kgf. The 10,000-cycle life entry is in the column headed “typ”, not a guaranteed minimum-life column. Obtain the required acceptance and durability evidence for the exact ordered part. [1]
The specified operating-temperature range is −40 to 85 °C. Separately, the general specification note says measurements are taken at 10–35 °C and 45–85% humidity under standard atmospheric pressure unless otherwise noted. That humidity is a measurement condition, not a published operating-humidity range. [1]
The same part drawing identifies LCP insulation, copper-alloy contacts with gold flash over nickel in the contact area and tin over nickel at the solder area. The reflow profile and storage instructions are manufacturing-process conditions, not the finished connector’s operating temperature. [1]
03
HDMI Licensing identifies Ultra High Speed cables with bandwidth up to 48 Gbps and Ultra96 cables up to 96 Gbps. These are cable categories associated with different specification generations; they do not qualify the cited HDMI 2.0 receptacle for either complete link. [4] [1]
Request the selected connector’s signal-characterisation evidence, board-layout requirements and mating compatibility for the intended product. A cable certification, a mechanical Type A outline and a catalogue’s version label answer different questions. [4] [2]
04
The HD11 drawing separates the contact finish from solder-tail finish and identifies the insulator and shell materials. Match the mating interface and board attachment together, including connector height, board cut-out where applicable and enclosure opening. [1]
Contact plating described as gold flash does not specify a guaranteed coating thickness. Obtain the ordered finish specification and acceptance evidence rather than assigning a thickness from another connector family. [1]
05
State the mating form, receptacle/plug, orientation, mounting arrangement, board thickness and enclosure constraints. Require the exact part/revision drawing and the relevant electrical and mechanical ratings with their test conditions. [2] [1]
Separate operating temperature from reflow/storage conditions, a catalogue life entry from a guaranteed minimum and cable bandwidth from the complete board-level signal path. Confirm the delivered finish, packaging and acceptance evidence for that configuration. [1] [4]

Its datasheet places the 10,000-cycle entry in the column headed “typ”. It is not printed as a minimum-life limit; confirm the ordered part’s agreed durability evidence. [1]
The datasheet gives that humidity in its general measurement-condition note. It is not labelled as an operating-humidity rating. [1]
Sources checked 2026-10-18. Same Sky’s part datasheet and catalogue are distinguished from HDMI Licensing’s connector overview and cable categories. Minimum, maximum and the source’s “typ” column retain their separate meanings.
