Definition
A stick pack machine slits a film web into multiple narrow lanes, forms each into a slim tube, and fills single-serve doses of coffee, sugar, electrolyte powders, sauces, or pharmaceutical granules before cross-sealing and cutting. Machines run 4 to 20 lanes producing up to roughly 1,500 sticks per minute total, with auger dosing for powders and piston pumps for liquids. The stick format uses 30 to 40 percent less film than pillow sachets for the same dose, which drives adoption in instant beverage and nutraceutical lines.
Working Principle
A wide film reel is slit into lanes; each lane wraps around a forming tube where a vertical seal creates the tube shape. Dosing units above each tube release the measured product between cross-seal cycles, and heated horizontal jaws seal, emboss, and cut the sticks, which drop to a takeaway conveyor or counting collator.
