A stair handrail assembly provides a continuous handhold along a flight or ramp. Specify the rail profile, bracket stand-off, support attachment and end treatment as an assembly: the tube dimensions alone do not describe how the user grips it or how the load reaches the wall or posts.

The eCFR text of 29 CFR 1910.29(f), in the dated snapshot linked below, sets handrail height at 30–38 inches (76–97 cm), measured from the leading edge of the stair tread to the top surface of the handrail, and minimum finger clearance at 2.25 inches (5.7 cm). These are the handrail provisions in that text, rather than dimensions taken from a tube catalogue. [1]
The same paragraph calls for a firmly graspable shape, smooth surfaces, ends without projection hazards and strength of at least 200 pounds (890 N) applied downward or outward within 2 inches (5 cm) of any point along the top edge. Brackets, fasteners and the supporting substrate belong in the assembly design and verification. [1]

The steel-human.com Step Handrail page lists a round stainless handrail in grade 304, lengths of 80, 100, 120, 140 or 160 cm, and pipe diameter of 38 or 42 mm. Its specification table gives wall thickness as 1.0 mm and explicitly notes that 1.5 mm appears elsewhere in the source text. Both thicknesses remain unresolved; request a drawing identifying the offered tube and wall before ordering. [2]
Qingdao Jiuguang lists stainless handrail brackets for staircases, with compatibility for round tubes, square tubes and flat handrails, plus wall-mount and glass-mount systems. The category page lists material options 304, 201, 316 and 430, wall thicknesses 0.4–5.0 mm and satin-brushed, mirror-polished, matte or industrial finishes. This is a catalogue range, not a wall thickness assigned to every bracket or tube. [3]
Choose the bracket saddle for the specified handrail profile. Provide hole layouts, substrate, fixing method, finish and the rail-to-bracket joint with the request; an attractive railing photograph does not define the anchorage.
