Robotic case erecting for lines that alternate between case sizes
Pearson's Random Robotic Case Erector (RRCE) peels each corrugated blank off the magazine with an articulated motion to reduce pull force and avoid mis-picks, opens it with dual opposed vacuum from both sides, and carries it through closing and sealing between synchronised dual flight lugs that keep it square; its dual-stacked powered magazines can be restocked without stopping production. Give the supplier the case styles and the full range of blank and erected sizes, board grade and flute, cases per minute per size, how sizes alternate on the line, tape or hot melt, the space and ceiling height available, and how blanks arrive at the station.

Fixed-format erectors: higher rates, magazine height and features for imperfect blanks
Premier Tech's Chronos CFS RSC erector, for FEFCO 200-range cases, runs up to 18 cases per minute depending on configuration and container, opens cases with opposing suction cups to keep them square even with thin or warped board, loads blanks at 700 mm into a horizontal magazine with 1,000 mm capacity, takes blanks up to 500 × 400 mm (medium) or 600 × 450 mm (large), seals with hot melt or tape, and offers tool-free or automatic format changeover. [2] A-B-C describes its Model 450 erector-bottom sealer at 20 to 55 RSC and HSC cases per minute, one case every 1.1 seconds, with a self-indexing low-level magazine and extensions, arms that over-open major flaps on incorrectly slotted cases, vacuum cups above and below for warped cases, a walking-beam squaring drive, a servo sealing ram and a chute that uprights cases onto the takeaway conveyor. Editorial calculation: one case every 1.1 seconds is about 55 cases per minute, matching A-B-C's top figure, and 5.5 times the robotic cell's maximum. [3][1] Editorial note: where one or two case sizes run for long periods, a fixed-format erector gives more cases per minute; where sizes change case by case, the robotic cell avoids changeover; ask the supplier for the rate at your largest and smallest case, not the headline maximum.
