Ask three things first: how far the display will be from the PC and which link carries video and touch that far, whether power runs in the same cable, and which mounting and protection the display needs at its location.

How far the display can sit from the industrial PC: 50 m with DVI/USB extension, 100 m with Category-cable links
Beckhoff connects its remote Control Panels to the Industrial PC via DVI and USB; with its DVI/USB extended technology the panel and PC can be 50 m apart, and with CP-Link 4 up to 100 m. [1] B&R states that its Smart Display Link 3 allows a maximum distance of 100 m between PC and panel and is compatible with all Automation Panels in the field. [3] In consumer and commercial AV, Electronic Design reports that HDBaseT carries uncompressed HD video up to 100 m on CAT5e/6 cable, with up to eight repeaters, plus 100 Mbit/s Ethernet and USB, and notes that 10.2 Gbit/s HDMI runs out of steam beyond 15 ft cables, while 50 ft HDMI cables on sale do not meet HDMI specs. [4]
Editorial calculation: 100 m is about 328 ft, roughly 22 times the 15 ft (4.6 m) at which Electronic Design places the limit for 10.2 Gbit/s HDMI. [4]
Give the supplier the cable route length from PC to display, whether it runs through a drag chain or support arm, the display size and resolution, touch type, the supply voltage at the display, and the protection class and temperature range at the mounting point.

One cable or two: where the transmitter sits and whether 24 V runs with the video
Beckhoff offers CP-Link 4 in two variants. The One Cable Display Link takes DVI, USB and 24 V into a CU8803 transmitter box and sends them over a single Cat.6A cable to the panel, whose own power socket then stays unused. The Two Cable Display Link carries DVI and USB 2.0 in one Cat.6A cable with power on a separate connector, using a CU8802 transmitter box or a transmitter module fitted directly in an Industrial PC with a PCIe slot. [1] A 2013 trade report on the launch describes the panels as purely passive displays and the cable as standard CAT 7, available in drag-chain versions with field-configurable connectors. [2]
The Power over HDBaseT addendum to HDBaseT 1.0 delivers up to 100 W over distances up to 100 m on Category 5e or 6 cable. [5] Editorial note: Beckhoff's product page names Cat.6A while the 2013 report names CAT 7; take the cable category from the maker's current documentation for the panel you order.

Cabinet door, mounting arm or hazardous area: the display variants a link supports
Beckhoff lists CP-Link 4 for its CP29xx-0010 multi-touch panels for installation in the control cabinet, CP39xx-0010 for mounting-arm installation and CPX39xx-0010 for Zone 2/22 hazardous areas, all with the receive electronics built in, in diagonals from 7 to 24 in. [1] Fray lists industrial touchscreen displays including a 10.1 in IP65 waterproof VGA industrial LCD, and states that it builds sunlight-readable panels of up to 1,000 nits with optical bonding and capacitive touch, with KVM extensions for long-distance transmission.
